Skupinu CROSS vytvoril v oktobri 1987 počas formálnej prestávky skupiny QUEEN, kedy Mercury inklinoval k opere a v novembri naspieval duet s Monserat Caballe Barcelona, ktorý v UK obsadil 8.m. V skupine Cross boli Spike Edney nar. 1951 v Portsmuth klávesy dlhoročný spolupracovník skupiny Queen a na inzerát získaný hudobníci Clayton Moss gitara, Peter Noone basovéá gitara a Josh Macrae nar. 1964 v Tel Avive v Izraeli bicie. Vo februari 1988 po úspech albumu začala skupina miniturné po UK.Z albumu v UK uspeli ešte Shove It na 83.m. a Heaven For Everyone na 84.m. V piesni nespieval Roger Taylor ale Freddie Mercury. V roku 1990 mala skupina v UK hit s piesňou Power Of Love na 83.m. Skladba pochádzala z albumu MAD,BAD AND DANGEROUS TO KNOW z roku 1990, ktorý v Nemecku skončil na 48.m. Posledný album BLUE ROCK vydala skupina v roku 1991.
