'Hymns' is a heavy metal re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text, The Bhagavad Gita.

Before the start of the Kurukshetra War, Prince Arjuna is reluctant to go into battle as he has to fight his relatives, beloved friends and revered teachers.

In desperation, Arjuna turns to his charioteer and mentor, Krishna for advice. Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and reveals the nature of the Self.

LYRICS:

Dilemma amidst Kurukshetra yet Arjuna spoke like a wise man

The battle of shreyas and preyas enshrouds the Dharma yuddha

ashocyan anvashocas tvam (You grieve for those who are not worthy of grief)

In both Krishna and Arjuna It shines eternally

One knows and the other knows not

A reality that shines even in one's ignorance

And shines the same in one's wisdom

nasato vidyate bhavo nabhavo vidyate satah

ubhayorapi drshtontah tvanayostattvadarshibhih

avinashi tu tadviddhi yena sarvamidam tatam

vinashamavyayasyasya na kashchitkartumarhati

(The Self is eternal, and the visible physical body, is transitory. The reality of these two is indeed certainly seen by the seers of truth.

The Self by whom this entire universe is pervaded is indestructible. No one can destroy the Immortal Self.)

Amidst chaos tranquility is bestowed

In action you see inaction

To see beyond the horizon you've got to unlearn your learning

Amidst the Battlefield of Kurukshetra Brahmavidya was unveiled to Arjuna

That the Self is certainly Brahman

That which no weapons can kill!

Metal of the first order! As a metal fan of many decades, it is most pleasing for me to hear such fine music coming from distant brothers of the same Maa. You're only the second Hindu metal band I've listened to, and the first that I have enjoyed. Much deserved RESPECT to you, from The United States.

This is my conviction. (18.78)Thus ends the eighteenth chapter named "Moksa ThroughRenunciation" of the Upanisad of the Bhagavadgita, the scripture of yoga, dealing with the scienceof the Absolute in the form of the dialoguebetween Srikrsna and Arjuna.
