Always hated Clapton's tone on this album. He's got his pickup selector set to the bloody Dire Straits tone. Beautiful playing reduced to Knopfler-type MOR. A real shame. Perhaps Waters was to blame.

Jeg kende ingenting til Erik Clapton - heldigvis ??? Men. jeg kender til nogen, der vil ødelægge selv børns tro.

For some reason, my vinyl LP of this album came with no lyric sheet. Astonishingly enough, I loved the album without having any idea WHAT was going on! Fortunately, I eventually got the sheet music book, which included not only lyrics, but what the quiet voices are saying, as well as some gorgeous Gerald Scarfe illustrations.

Just another one of the amazing tracks on this superb album. I'm so glad I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. Can you imagine not knowing of Roger Waters et al.......

I came here to see if I can find someone, anyone, doing a cover for the solo but nahh, nada, so I stayed and listened anyway, it's 1am, lights off, eyes shut, goosebumps ... I don't even like Clapton but somehow this is in my top 5 solos of all time.  It's Roger, it must be.  He just brings out the best in his musicians of choice.  And to think, he's in the studio right now recording something! Drooling already...... thanks for sharing

Very good. One of the best solos guitar ever. Does anyone know what amp and effects does Clapton have used in this song? Very very good tone also...

Once again Waters shows how to bring out the best from the guitarist at work, Gilmour included... but hardly exclusively. The solo in this song is pretty much Clapton's single greatest guitar solo he ever put down in the studio.

If you guys get the chance, check out the immersion version of The Wall. It features an early demo of this song. Both this, and The Heroes Return from The Final Cut were originally meant for The Wall.
