I've always loved this song! Especially now that it's autumn.

This song is sublime.  It doesn't really matter what Poco are saying - the lead vocal, harmonies, beautiful steel guitar and connection between the entire band make it a rare and special performance.  Indian Summer is the one reason Poco are the most inspired country rock band ever. Listening to Indian Summer every time feels like a first on each occasion.

It was warm yesterday and the sun was out.... on November 19th. Brought to mind this song by Poco.. That's Timothy B. Schmidt on bass. Wonder whatever happened to Timothy B. Schimdt? Hope he found work in some other band - hate to think he's broke and scrapping by giving bass lessons to teenage boys - and eating Hungry Man soup he made on a hot plate at night in his one room basement apartment.

I love Poco so much. I was born in 1990 and this song makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived in. So good!

Not only was the band under rated, each of the individuals has never received the credit they deserve. Paul Cotton is a tremendous all-rounder. Ditto Schmidt and Young. And George Grantham was a wonderfully musical drummer. Great players putting out great tunes and with a great sound. Tunes like this and Rose of Cimmaron still melt me...

I am 53 and I have been a huge "old" Poco fan since high school. They were so amazing, and yes, their music takes me back to my youth. Thank you for posting this music!

I'm 42, and LOVE POCO, since I was a tiny, little kid and their songs were NEW on AM and FM radio (not too many big radio hits, though sadly), and love their playing and how they 'mesh' playing and singing. Still one of my favorite top 3 or 4 bands out of 100's! Paul C up there playing that big, famous Gretsch White Falcon (expensive!), Rusty Young and -- Timothy B - just literally months before he became an Eagle. So great! Indian Summer is a sentimental favorite for me...Cheers!

Gosh, it didn't get any better than POCO, FIREFALL, EAGLES, AND TOTO in the 70s. They were among my favorite bands of all time, and their music is still timeless. Somebody help me out; what's the lead singers name, and is his hair red? I'm a little color blind : (

This was a great album I'll always treasure, but this was the last great Poco album for me, because Timothy B.Schmit left the band! Yes, the 78 album was good, and there are great songs in other albums, but this was the end of the great Poco years for me:1968 to 1977!

@XFiles1993 That is great that you found them! Timothy B. Schmidt is the bass player in this video(the guy with the long hair) he was Poco's "2nd" bass player. Their first was Randy Miesner who lleft and went to the Eagles and then Tim took his place in Poco. Then when Randy left the Eagles, Tim took his place there too! Either way, great music!

@MrCainandabel, I am 28 and have loved classic rock my whole life. It's only been in the last year or so that I have really discovered Poco, and LOVED them. Even though I wasn't alive when the music came out, I do feel much simpler and more peaceful, and well, happier whenever I hear them. Keep enjoying!
