Someone said there's good metalcore bands. No, metalcore is not good at all. This is melodic death metal, and they're far better now. Not saying this song or album are bad, they're just simply better now.

Similar? Yes. Rip off? No. Also music is ever-progressive, if you're going to point a finger on every single song that sounds similar to another one, there would never be new bands. Chill down and open your mind a bit, okay? ^^

Only recognize/have about half of those, which means a bunch of new bands for me to try out. Thanks!

Insomnium, Amorphis (old), Swallow the Sun, Eternal tears of Sorrow (old and halfway), Wintersun, Children of Bodom, Ensiferum, Mors Principium Est, Noumena, Ghost Brigade, Whispered, Shade Empire, Frosttide, Norther, Kalmah, Naildown, Amoral (old), Dark the Suns, Before the Dawn, Mordicus, Catamenia, Alghazanth, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Cain's Offering, For my pain (also Korpiklaani and Kivimetsän Druidi if you like folk metal). Also, listen to the songs: A Shadowkey and New Dynamic by OG.

Okay, so I love this song, but most of the rest of their catalog I've listened to (including New World Shadows) doesn't grab me. I love melo-death and this is _so_very_close_ to being right up my alley. Any recommendations? I like BTBAM, Agalloch, Arch Enemy, Persefone (Spiritual Migration is definitely up my alley), Belakor, Finntroll, In Flames (Colony), Moonsorrow (okay, not melodeath), Opeth (still not melodeath, I don't think), all the way down to power-metal like Kamelot. Ideas?

I don't get it why this album is so underrated. It has to be their best album after NWS and Beyond. It's revolutionary.
