I feel like a tool! I of course heard of these guys but had no idea that this is how they sound. This is just great music, I don't like calling a "genre". To me music is music...the end. As my avatar always said " don't call your music anything because then you set limits for yourself". The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame brought me here, otherwise I never would have heard this great band

...first show I ever saw was "Mott", the band or what was left of them after Ian left to go solo Mick Ralphs formed Bad Company....I was 9yrs old!....I won tix answering a trivia question on an L.A. radio station....the show was at the Record Plant recording studio in Hollywood...had to take my mom cause I was too young...haha....got to see Ian Hunter with Mick Ronson at a small club in '89!!...Ian was one of the best rock songwriters ever!!...Mott the Hoople was one of the best rock bands ever!!....sooooooo underrated!!....."All The Young Dudes", "Mott", and "The Hoople" are all three classic lps!!.....why they aren't in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, but they let that crap Nirvana in?.....thats BS!!......Mott The Hoople lives!!!!

My God...this brings back memories of me trying to tell people about this band called "Mott The Hoople!" We all loved Zep and The Stones but I had been exposed and sold on these guys (and Todd Rundgren too) who didn't get as much attention as they deserved!

According to the credits on the album, backing vocals on this were by Sue Glover, Sunny Leslie & Barry St. John. Thunderthighs did the backup on "Roll Away the Stone" only on the single that was released. Lynsey De Paul did the speaking part on the subsequent album "The Hoople"
