1998 - The members of Mott The Hoople played together for the first time in 24 years at the Virgin Megastore on London's Oxford Street. They then performed two concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, in October 2009.This does bring back memories and was covered by a lot of the local bands as their final number on a Saturday night.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #glamrock #mottthehoople #onthisday #onthisdate

Yeah..I saw Queen Open up For Mott The Hopple May 24 1974 Kings Gym wilkes-barre Pa. It was the most awesome...would of been better if Mick Ralphs was there =at this time Bad Company kicked in... Ariel did lead The Golden Age Of Rock, and Roll=Queen was really out of hand Great....

I remember a lot of my friends didn't like this but I certainly did and have still got the single from '74 in pretty much mint condition. Haven't heard it for years though and have to say I'd forgotten just how awesome the words were....Amazing. Time to get my old records out again I think!!!!

How I miss the good ole' days, how I would sit and listen to Mott the Hoople and wonder what it must have been like. I grew up in the seventies and now turning the big five-o I miss so much of that era and how I would put on my brothers headphones and wish I could play guitar and sing like Ian Hunter. I guess with all this technology I long for a time when music was raw, gritty and hot.

Thanks for the Ariel Bender images. It was he, not Ronno who did the original recordings before Hunter let him go because he wanted the Ronno mystique. For me, Bender always delivered the goods.
