Mick Harvey did the English-speaking world a HUGE favour on both of his albums of Serge Gainsbourg songs (translated as closely as possible into English, a supremely difficult undertaking considering Serge's layers of interpretation and French wordplay) "Pink Elephants" and "Intoxicated Man" are *essential* listens to any non French speaking Serge devotee! @TheHayRap : of course Serge's version is unique, but I actually think their option is correct, since the initials B.B. stand for Brigitte Bardot - in English is spelled like they do. Of course, the "bébé" effect is lost, but that's untranslatable.12 years ago
