Here is the album version of "That's That." When I posted the version from ACC, I mentioned that I would also post the regular version, so here it is. This song reached #9 on the Billboard Country chart in 1988 (RCA 8650). Such a great song!

A "country" tune in 3/4... I heard this on the radio 25 years ago, was impressed by its emotional honesty then......and my reaction to it now is even more profound. This is Human Genius.Addendum:To the commentors below who remarked on the rhythmic complexity of this marvelous tune, let me suggest that you Google the musical terms "complex triple meter" and "hemiola;" some composers study for years before they can use those devices as effectively as is being done here.

I heard this song referred to as," the try to tap your foot to it song". I can't do it, can anyone else-try it. (Its due to the fact that all of the instruments were recorded at different speeds.)Can't do it, can you? lol patybear

Another great song by this great artist. He has such a soothing voice. He could sing you dying on your death bed and you wouldn't even care!!!

I was driving through Texas or Oklahoma from New Mexico one time in my twenties and heard this one time on the radio and it haunted me because I loved it... I was going through a" that's that" thing for about the 30th time. I ended up in Georgia. Saw Fort Benning where my husband had trained to be an Airborne Ranger. I wish his life had been better, and mine too. :>

Can't find this version and my friend Don played on this. It's not on Spotify or iTunes. Anyone else have luck with this?

This song is so sad! I remember this song from when I was a kid. It just sounds so hopeless!

I find myself listening more and more to the older stuff, usually nothing past the 90's, because I'm sick of the crap they're trying to pass off as country. I swear, if I hear another singer bragging about how redneck he is, I'm going to puke!!!

When I went to look for this version on Spotify a couple of years ago, I couldn't find it. I grew up listening to this kind of music as a kid. Thanks for posting this!
