One of the most beloved girl-group classics, "I Wanna Make You Happy" is the second single by Planetary's Margaret Mandolph. Planetary Records was Dot Records' R&B subsidiary, and Margaret Mandolph was only 13 years old when she recorded this single. The b-side is "Something Wonderful," a quick, simple, under two-minute stomper revered by the Northern Soul community. Unfortunately "Something Wonderful" is often mistaken as the a-side and most Northern Soulies never even bother to listen to "I Wanna Make You Happy." "Something Wonderful" was also released on Decca Recors by Connie Stevens, and Dusty Springfield recorded a sub-par cover of "I Wanna Make You Happy."

The song's instrumental riff is a pre-cursor to Amy Grant's "I Will Remember You." The sample is extremely close, one might think Amy Grant ripped off Margaret's record.

This song is still not available on any commercial CD via the master tape, however the b-side "Something Wonderful" is.

@MrsCherry20001 Hi. This is your mom? This song is considered a girl-group era classic. The b-side is also a northern soul classic. Tell your mother. Also, I work for an oldies reissue company. May I interview your mother? Ask her some questions online that she can respond to? Please let me know.

@MrsCherry20001 Send her my regards. Let her know that back in England during the 1970,s her record 'Something Buetifull' was masive on the underground club scene. It used to go for a lot of money on American Import back in the day. I collect obscure American Sixties Girl Group records and obscure American Sixties female singers. I still listen to both the above tracks regualry. Simon - A BIG FAN
