Freddie Mercury isn't the first person I'd be comparing to, but Aussie girl band Stonefield is pretty epic-sounding 60's 70's rock, in which I can easily hear at least Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa and Cream sounds. Others exist, but Stonefield is easily my favourite. Good old talent of rock is not dead, it's just hiding a little bit more underground than in the 70's.

I saw this live and am still thinking about how great it was years later. Even Ian Anderson did not get the crowd response of Lucia! Everyone stood up spontaneously!

@AlexTrevelyan Jeff Buckley had vocals equally amazing to Freddie Mercury's of course he had to die after only making one album.

"Who has the vocals of Freddie Mercury?" Believe it or not Pink does an excellent cover of Bohemian Rhapsody.
