I used to have a pretty girlfriend that lived far away from me.... I miss her a lot.

this song always reminds me of a short haired girl i used to see in north queensland. barefoot skating, kisses after midnight, and awesome little tits in the humidity of the tropics.

who is the chick singing?

I think it's Nicole Johnson. She did back up on their first album, This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. I know that much, anyway. Maybe it's still her. Sorry I don't know for sure.

You are completely wrong. The name comes from the Virginia Woolf story "The mark on the wall" and they took from the phrase "and very frequent even in the minds of MODEST, MOUSE-colored people, who believe genuinely that they dislike to hear their own praises." They took the two words, and made that the band name. I suggest you do some more research before you post something that isn't true.

The song is (taken literally) about a man and woman at a lounge getting high on "porcupine" (heroine) and having a good time. "pull each other's triggers" is "shooting each other up".

I have read in many places that it was a quote from an excerpt of a poem containing "modest, mouse-colored people."

No, I think the name is Pornographer.

"We should pull each other's triggers" Does this romanticize suicide or does it simply refer to, like, dredging up old memories with someone else so that both of you feel more comfortable? Legitimate question, I want to see how other people interpret it.
