I knew him well. Hung out with the band outside the Cafe Wha? in 1965 and 1966 when they were just starting out. My band, The Outcasts were playing at the Night Owl and the Wha?.............What splendid times. He will surely be missed.

opening shot is Steve Alaimo ( an Action regular ) with The Robbs, a band Dick Clark was pushing that went no where. for some reason Alaimo got a co-write credit for Gregg Allman's "Melissa"..... Mike Brown, and Steven Martin....two groundbreakers....This song is timeless.

Pure genius. This song is as good as anything Bob Dylan or the Beatles did.

I met these guys in a New York club 1967 or 68. I told them I was a guitar player from Canada. They were looking for a replacement in there band. I enjoyed there company. Its to bad they could not keep the band going. The had a monster hit with Just walk away "Rene.. I left for San Fran... Junior

And just contemplate this fact:This was written by a 16 year old boy from NYC.Another winner for the ages is Jackson Browne's These Days which he also composed when he was 16.Billy Swan wrote Lover Please when he was 16. All three of those songs are classics but THIS may be the BEST EVER. check out the version by Linda Ronstadt and Ann Savoy for a female perspective and there's a nice French version would you believe

Thanks for this rare clip despite its many problems I appreciate you posting it. I wish somebody out there can upload the original Left Banke 45rpm so we show the younger generation what good music sounded like. This may be my favorite song EVER.I've been listening to music for over 40 years and I worked as a radio disc jockey so I heard thousands and thousands of songs from every continent and every decade of recorded music but I don't think I ever heard a song as beautiful as this one.And just

I personally like this better than The Four Tops. Plus they play instruments maybe not here but in concert.
