Amazing he was found not guilty in the 2nd trial and the CPS dropped the 3rd case against him.

This was a great number and deserved its status as a hit in that long hot summer of 1976. The unique violin thing in a pop record added panache to it. JK sung it well, I knew he produced it, didn't know it was him singing it as well! Certainly when you hear this record it instantly brings back that year vividly. Heard the other versions (sorry I didn't know Tavares sung the original), but none compare to this one.

Not much good, sounds like a weak vocal from a woman. Take That much better.

I can't say I was ever a fan of JK, but I always find his music maddeningly catchy. Maybe it was designed that way. I don't like the way that his songs are being written out of pop history. It begs the question as to who and what else the taste makers will write out. There's plenty of good music that has been overlooked over the years because it doesn't fit the taste of those with the hands on the levers. Happily, the Internet is allowing us to be proactive and listen to the music we choose.

This version also did pretty good in Mexico, it was more popular than Taveres version for a while...

The song that Top Of The Pops on BBC4 forgot.

"The copyright in the footage is owned by him as performer and Internet Rights were never granted to the terrestrial broadcaster." Is this why the BBC cut it from TOTP this week? Perhaps JK requested them to.

BBC should not be rewriting history by cutting this out of the repeat (even the "uncut" late night showing). Same week as Tavares were on with Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel too. This is interesting info that the BBC have not let viewers see because they're scared of complaints. Music is music, history is history. I don't care what a performer did or didn't do.

JK made loadsa records with studio musicians....the back up vocalists on this include Stephanie De Sykes and Clare Torry................arranged by Johnny Arthey who is much missed by those who worked with him.
