Jonathan King and his 1974 smash version of Satisfaction under the name Bubblerock that Jagger said was "the best after the Rolling Stones" - ripped off by The Tritons for an Italian hit.

I heard this song for the very first time ever at 8:30 this morning. It came on random play on the jukebox of my local pub (they just happen to serve the best coffee available at that time in the morning) - and it was such a fucking beautiful morning, and no-one was around, and as a fresh breeze rolled over to me from the sea 50 yards away it nearly made me cry how fucking great life can be at times like that.

I don't know for sure who came first if King or Tritons because it's a bit hard to followthe sequence of release date...45...33...someone supports King, someother Tritons...I don't want to argue...In any case this is one amazing version...one of those that improves the original song making something completely different and new...Another excellent example to me is Gary Shearston's version of "Get a kick out of you"...

Don't be Up and Down March; the Tritons copied my original treatment and made an identical version that became a big hit in Italy.

I don't know, King. I'm torn between your cover and Devo's cover for the definitive version of this tune.

Since Mick said it to me whilst we were both waiting for our cars outside the Beverley Wilshire Hotel in the 60s - no, sadly no independent verification; so you'll just have to accept my delusional (not to mention perverted) account.

Catchy...Jagger was being cynical ofcourse. Since then there've been new kids on the block, called DEVO,who'se 1979 version is almost as good as The Stones'.

If P.F Sloan had done a version it might sound like this.

@zfloid44 No; Tritons copied my version; note for note - as they did my version of Rock - both from the Bubblerock Is Here To Stay album.

when i first heard Jonathan King sing "Satisfaction" it cracked me up. Come to think of it what is a satisfaction? Nothing to be bothered about. And that's what he must have in mind - making The rolling Stones (my favourite group) morons. Because they were angry singing their song and Jonathan King doesn't care a fig.

We driving in the south east of England in 1983 and we heard this song on BBC radio. I was surprised. Great version and still I love it.
