I have been a John Hiatt fan for at least a few decades, great song writer and singer. He really sings how I feel. Add Lyle to it with his incredible voice, and they are magic together. Saw them live, and they are the super power team! One of the best shows I have seen!

The title of the song spells "thing" wrong. It's pronounced correctly throughout, but the word is spelled "thAng"

And, as of this post, they're touring ... just saw 'em in Greeley, Colorado (October 9th) ... just cool ... acoustic performance ... they're trading songs and talkin' back and forth. They're in California now and heading up to Oregon and Tacoma, Washington (October 18th) ... check out John's website for a schedule ... it's worth it!
