sentryasspy where is your head?? it is a scottish folk-song with several versions and tunes. bob dylan has nothing to do with it!! He ripped off and scrounged every song he could get his hands on. "god on your side" and "scarborough fair" are prime excambles of that. I wrote on my guitarcase many years ago "Dylan is a ......." and I will stand by that!!

Also recommend a listen to Muckram Wakes, "Peg of Derby" and Old Blind Dogs, "Bonnie Lass o' Fyvie"

Haunting then and haunting now.

Have always loved Joan's version of this beautiful song! Unfortunately there are some pretty bad covers of this song on YouTube. (accept for Judy Collins and a good version by Simon & Garfunkel)

More beautiful than words can describe: like a songbird reborn in human form to bring us faith in life again.

Always touches my heart. Joan made these songs come to life in a way that spoke to me then, and now. Tragically beautiful...

1 week and sore fingers later - cappo 4 - chords with C notes on 1st and 6th strings plus three notes of the C-shape. Either needs left thumb to get bottom C (not Joan) or swapping of 4th and 5th fingers around at the right time. For high D in middle of verse - catch top two strings, with pinky up on D on 1st string and index back on first fret 2nd string (ie F), then pick open C third string, then catch top strings again with middle on 3rd fret and 2nd string open, then C on bottom string.....
