This is one of my favorite versions of this song. I have tried to find unusual photos to go with it. Hoyt Axton sings "Blind Fiddler" originally from his album, "Southbound", released in 1975. It's been on at least 3 other records/cd's and I've put photos of them on the video also. John Hartford is listed as playing fiddle, so I assume he is the "fiddler" in this song. Enjoy!

For all Hoyt Axton fans, you must see this site: http://www.hoytsmusic.com

Most of my photos are from here, and Ray Kawal who runs the site had a 40 year friendship with Hoyt. He has tv and movie videos you can get from his site. He has tapes he has edited for purchase...all things Hoyt! He has fantastic info and photos & has the latest on Hoyt's son's career. Please check it out. He is a dedicated and true Hoyt Axton friend! I thank him for the work he does to keep Hoyt Axton's memory alive. You can email him with questions (but please look at his site first), [email protected]

I'm tired today & just going through my music. I heard this and had to share it! Lovely, lovely fiddle in an old, traditional folk song. Hoyt Axton's "Blind Fiddler." Many think it might be Civil War Era music.

I really wish I knew what I said! I meant it, whatever it was. She was here & I tried to get anyone to go with me. I've just gotten rid of a walker & it was in another city. I was afraid to go by myself since I haven't been walking long. She is on my Bucket List & seldom comes here. I'm going to make sure I see her if I have to crawl the next time! Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I love music! I love lots of types of music! I'm so glad you enjoy. Thanks for letting me know & joining! :)

Hello Ms. Moppet - I never check my inbox and such but just did and loved your response to my love for an unrelated Bonnie Raitt song. Absolutely love this Hoyt Axton song too. There is so much soulful music that's not played widely and yet to be discovered by people who haven't been lucky enough to come across it before. Keep the faith. I love your channel and you have a new subscriber. Thanks for a quality channel!

You are very welcome! I've moved around the last 20+ years so much that my music has been 'farmed out & stored' for years. I'm having fun getting it all back. I'm like a kid. This is one of my favorites of his, also. (But then I tend to love most all his songs.) I appreciate you leaving a comment and am very glad you enjoyed it! (It's good to see you again.) My best, Moppet

It does have a nice feel. I hadn't thought of WHY I liked it, but I think that is a big part of it. I love Hoyt's voice, the stories in his songs...and this nice "easy feel". Thanks for your insight! I appreciate that you took the time to leave a comment. I love comments + they often make me think! Thanks. My best to you, Moppet (Barbara)
