Formed by Rich Froberg and John Reis in 1999, Hot Snakes came into being when Reis took time off from his other band, Rocket From The Crypt. The pair had a strong DIY ethic, with Froberg doing the artwork for all the band's releases and Reis releasing them on his label, Swami, and Elemental in the UK.
