One of the few songs that sounded better live than the studio version!

German television in the '70s looks so technically superior to U.S. television from that era.

Hey Eddie: Were you playing drums on the LiveTime album?.... I love that album; it's my favorite album that you guys recorded live.

Bought this LP in 1974, last year of a 4 year hitch in the USAF. Toad Hall (KDKB fm) told me to buy it, he never steered me wrong. R.I.P. Gary Kinsey.....

It actually switches back and forth a couple of times between our 1976 appearance and the 1977 appearance. The only change in the band is that we added Charlie DeChant on sax (and he's still in the band 37 years later!). Todd has a beard in 76 and not in 77. I was playing a drum set I built myself out of clear blue plexiglas and the following year I switched to a wood set. I wish I could get both shows in their entirety on DVD instead of just the songs they put together on this one DVD.

look for the diner's story on Hall & Oats facebook page, it's long and wonderful...... shows you why daryl is who he is. It started long ago. He's an old soul and was probably born one!

I actually have a piece of the Abandoned Luncheonette from the cover, I grew up less than a 1/4 mile from where it rested in the weeds until it was torn down

@TheSoldierScholar You know, that's an interesting interpretation. I've always wondered what the lyrics of this song meant. A marriage, very plausible. Such a great tune though...

I can't wait to see these guys again! Haven't seen em in awhile but I've been seeing them since 77. They're gonna blow my kid AWAY. He's a musician himself and he's seen them a few times but he's 14 now and not since he was like 5 I know he's just gonna be blown AWAY I can't WAIT tee hee.

@iwannabe24 Yes, that's Charlie DeChant in his first of many many years in the band and he's still one of my best friends.

Thank you Musikladen for this FANTASTIC VIDEO of Hall & Oates Live "Abandoned Luncheonette"! I was rockin and all the way back when I was 18 -- loving it just as much now as then...maybe more so even, being able to see it visually and audibly. Perfect.
