September in the Rain

Lyrics - Al Dubin

Music - Harry Warren

Performed by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians

Vocal Refrain by Carmen Lombardo

Recorded February 2, 1937

Victor 25526

Guy Lombardo began his musical career in 1924 in his native London, Ontario; with brothers Lebert, Carmen and Victor, he formed a big dance band. Originally, Guy was a violinist, but he soon became the band's leader and conductor. The Royal Canadians' slogan was "The Sweetest Music This Side of Heaven" -- and by 1930, the group was America's top dance band.

Can I ask what the search you performed was? Or what is the online source of the picture? I'm trying to locate it myself.

I used Google image search, but the source of the image had no attribution.

Where did you find that image of the woman running in the rain? I find it particularly interesting.

Foster was with Lombardo in 1944 for just a few months and probably made less than 10 recordings with the Royal Canadians. According to the Radio Gold Index, he sang on two AFRS broadcasts in 1944 with Guy Lombardo and His Musical Autographs.
