The Frank Sinatra version, released as a Columbia Records single, 40229, in late 1952, appeared in the Cashbox magazine best-selling record charts in 1954, reaching no. 40 on May 22, 1954. Jimmy Dorsey composed "I'm Glad There is You" with Paul Mertz in 1941 and released the song as a Decca B side with Bob Eberle on vocals. Jimmy Dorsey re-recorded the song in 1946 as an A side on Decca with Dee Parker on vocals. The song has become a jazz and pop standard. Everyone from Ella to Sarah to Rosemary to Smokey Robinson to The Temptations and Beyonce Knowles have recorded the song.
