I would like to set the facts straight for all those with out of touch n just plain stupid comments. Richie n Charlie Ingui were the lead voices in the original recordings. To Havanakings i say neither is Felix Cavalieri the Felix of old. And i would assume you at 62 yrs old will creak n crow in the shower with no one to witness it. Btw go see Felix on Broadway with the Rascals n then come back n tell me about aging throats.

Joseph Higgins

you can add he found Jimi Hendix, the Rascals all played with him and Joe Pesci played guitar with him.

Kenny Jeremiah was front man and vocalist with the Soul Survivors in this recording not Felix Cavilaerre.

Great Song

I have to confess, I used to listen to this song as a young boy in the 60's. This is my first time actually seeing who sang this great song. All these years I thought this was an African American group. Boy, this was a shocker for me. I thought the same about the group The Rascals when I heard the song "Groovin, on a Sunday afternoon". It doesn't matter what color the singer is, it's the sound that count. Just thought I'd share this interesting surprise. Thanks for posting this friend. maurice

Joey Dee ...pioneer, paved the way for great White-Boy Soul singers like Soul Survivors, Young Rascals, Hall and Oates and the fantastic Rightous Bros. Expressway was produced by soul-masters Gamble and Huff. The song continues to grab your ears to this day.

Sadly Craig Van Tilbury who is playing guitar on this video recently passed away. R.I.P. Craig.

I am in Detroit again and here is where this song rocked the Muscle Cars of that day.

So there's no original video of this? These guys were staying at the same hotel that I was outside of Philly in 1967 (?). They played at a wedding and took me with them. Ooops I was only 17. Then I got to hang out at the hotel with them - nothing smarmy. But can you imagine how exciting for a goofball from the midwest to meet and hang out with this group and their small entourage for a day and night. Starstruck. Plus this is a great song.

@NPR150 The MC is Joey Dee of Joey Dee and the Starliters...it was his show with Soul Survivors as special guests!

What a kick ass performance on this song. Lead vocal and back up, just ate this song up, as well as the rhythm section. The real talent is the Air Guitar by the MC.

Kinda bogus how their isnt a video of the "origional crew" because Edward Gibson was the backup singer for the origional.

I was recording it, the STUPID old bint walked up to me and started blabbering at me about how she forgot her camera! I was trying to get rid of her diplomatically I promise you. She had the most irritating voice too...ARGH!
