I HAVE KNOWN THIS SONG ALL MY LIFE

(1962)...LOVE IT AND CAN LISTEN TO IT TIME AFTER TIME...TRUELY AN INSPIRATION FROM A GREAT ARTIST...THAT SOUND...

The whole album is definately his best along with another album of the same year (1962) Twangy guitar and silky strings. If you do not have it already you must get it!

Just curious: how would you rate his record "Twistin' with Duane Eddy"? (I see the record displayed among the photos).

The very first 33LP I purchased back then and it was my inspiration for beginning to learn and play the guitar. Those half step bends did it for me.... Rock on Duane Eddy

@JiS01 Not impossible. But since this is from 1962 I would say the other famous song composer would have been inspired by this one...

I am going to put Walkin'nTwistin in the next 15mn. The others would be a bit difficult as I need ot convert from LP.

I think It depends on the print as It was distributed by several companies (although originally RCA Victor. It did have a hint of green on my dad's RCA version.

You got it partner...It had Peppermingt twist, Twistin'nTwangin, Let's twist again, Miss twist, Sugartime twist, exactly like you, Walkin'nTwistin (I am walkin), Dear lady twist, . Moanin'n twistin, Country twist, the twist and of course Twistin off a cliff (a Must)...I have a mono version from 1962 (UK) and my dad's stereo version (RCA) is still there...Will probably put some more songs if I can...I wonder if it is available on CD these days...If not It's a shame. Most excellent record!

As far a I know Duane Eddy endorsed Guild and had signature guitars with them (model (DE-500 and DE-400) in the early sixties. The models were fitted with pickups (from Dearmond) which were probably exactly the same models (fidelatone/dynasonic) as on his Gretsch G6120 1956/57 Chet Atkins. This should explain why there is no change in his tone...(also still played essentially on the neck PU, plec quite close to the bridge...
