A sincere appologie to 7786punk. I confused this with a simalar video of this take that had 'Shout'dubbed over it. Thank you for posting this. This is one of my favourite early depeche mode clips ever!

Oh btw Shout was not played that night in their 35 minute set. I will dig my mixing desk tape out and write the set list down and post it one day. If you wonder how I am so sure. I was co founder of Croc's Glamour Club and Co DJ. Cheers FATMAN

Actually, this was film shot at Crocs for TV show 20th Century Box, and is New Life. This "Video" took about three hours to film in an empty club, and then had the live crowd shots added after the club opened. If I remember correctly it was filmed on July 4th 1981 and filming started at 5pm, the crew arrived at about midday. The club was open normally from 7.30 till 2 am but on this night the doors didnt open till 8pm and the queue stretched the full length of Rayleiigh High Street.

This was actually fillmed at the :"Crocs" night club during a live gig in the early days before the realease of Speak n Spell. They are actually performing the song "Shout" in this clip, but just dubbed "New Life" over it. You can tell the lipsync is very "off". I love the early "Futurist - New Romantic" scene here... CLASSIC!
