People says that this is the worst DM song, yeah it's not THAT good, but I like it, I sing it when I'm happy :D

This has to be the gayest of songs.

I could see Dave watching this now and trying desperately to hide his face :). I mean that in a "oh my god, I was NEVER that young" kind of way. I wonder if the guys ever pay a visit to youtube to see some of the really awesome historical stuff that has come to light in the last few years.

And Vince Clarke wonders why everyone assumes he's gay.

DM members think this song is their worst one but I think it's pretty nice! They were young and cute! And we can identify the sound of their early music, so thumbs up!!

wikipedia says: "When interviewed by Simon Amstell for Channel 4's Popworld programme in 2005, Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher both stated that the track "What's Your Name?" was their least favourite Depeche Mode song of all time."

@jaxxstraw I agree with you; I'd never seen actual video, but I'm of the opinion that this song must have been 100% Vince Clark inspired...I too am glad they ditched Clark..he was a much better match to Andy Bell..

They were so lucky that Vince Clarke left and took his tinkly bubblegum pop stylings with him, in retrospect.

@DughiPlace2 Buona Domenica? Salve e Grazie! For uploading this treasure! As a boy of 16 I "Came Out" to my friends and Family around 1981 when the album "Speak And Spell" first hit the US! The line "Hey You're Such A Pretty Boy" really emboldened the very frightened 16yr old boy, that I was at the time! What a different world it was! Grzie Mille! Il Suo Nuovo Amico Blaine
