I believe Bowie once said that the music was supposed to represent the bittersweet nostalgia for those trapped in East Berlin who lived in what is now West Berlin. Not being able to go home. A bit like Thomas Jerome Newton. A bit like Major Tom.

Thank you for the great video. For me "The Man Who Fell To Earth" is a unique film in terms of a possible alien look on Earth. Being "in another world" in that period, Bowie looks a very authentic "alien". And connecting this with even the existing of Berlin Wall and all the useless and cruel things that followed, makes me think again if the people that made it were people at all. People as in "the most intelligent creatures on our planet."
