I didnt say that Bowie knew the words or how to play the music. I said it "sounds almost as good as Motts version" which btw had Bowie playing sax on. The fact that Bowie wrote the song and produced it has little to do with how Mott performed it. LOL

What I don't understand about this song is Billy's (the one in the song) age. Doesn't it first say he's 25 and then it says he's a "real mean teen"? I realize that Bowie might not care about consistency but its just as likely I'm missing something.
