There's nothing at all ancient about Christ. He was based on the Roman God Jupiter - a religion which vastly predates Christ. Not to mention the Greek and Egyptian religions which predate the Christian religion by between 900 and 3,000 years, respectively. THEY are the ancient religions, not Christianity, nor any of the other Abrahamic religions.

The "old" pagan ways should not only be tainted but entirely discarded in favor of Christ and His more ancient ways. Celtic means "of the Celts" referring to the race, hence, Celtic Christians or those Christians who are of the Celtic race or nations.

I am not disagreeing with you. This is on par with St. Paddy driving the snakes out of Ireland. The only snakes indigenous to Ireland were the "Snakes Of Wisdom" aka the Druids... It would seem that Christians revise history about as often as they revise their theology - and with the same lack of fanfare when they do so. Example: How are Sodomite and homosexual (not even a word in English until 1892) semantically equal?

For a fairly accurate scenario about how Christianity took over the British Isles and Ireland, read Marion Bradley-Zimmer's the Mists Of Avalon. While it is a work of fiction, one of the story lines is a fairly accurately depicts how Christianity drove out Druidism. The only "snakes" that St. Paddy chased out of Ireland were the "Snakes Of Wisdom" aka the Druids. Ireland had no indigenous species of reptiles - until Christianity arrived in the Island.

The Celts had harps, Celtic Fiddles, and other stringed instruments far earlier than the 5th century - not to mention wind instruments - with and without drones.

Ofc, just as there are (and were) Nordic Christians and Britannic Christians. However, this style of traditional celtic music predates the Christian conquest of Ireland in the 5th century. The celts would have had music like this (though probably more choral and less stringed instrument-based), even before Christ. :)

I'm confused... This says it is "Celtic", yet clearly it is singing about Christ. Celtic means it fits in with Celtic paganism and traditions, not bloody Christianity. Therefore this is not Celtic; it's Christian... I like the music but to have lyrics like this over Celtic music is tainting the old Pagan ways... >_<
