Ok, guys we have got to stop using the term shoegaze to describe anything with the slightest bit of reverb or lower mixed vocals on it. This is not shoegaze, it's not even close to it. I'm not even a big fan of that genre, nor am I stickler for labels but it's just getting really annoying to see people using the term improperly. It's like anything that's come out in the past year with maybe a bit of feedback or some delay and a chorus pedal on the guitar and everyone is going "So shoegaze!" or "This is totally 90's!" Listen to a band like Nothing or Whirr or maybe even Cloakroom (Cloakroom has some shoegaze influences, but are a good bit heavier). Those are some new bands doing the shoegaze thing. Then there's the classics like My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive. That's what shoegaze actually sounds like, not this.If you're going to put a label on this type of sound, it's very much post-hardcore/emo or punk. It has much more in common with bands late 80's and early 90's alternative and post-hardcore scene than it does with Shoegaze. More over, it's just good rock music. Please, I'm begging you guys, stop using shoegaze to describe everything Will Yip produces. Title Fight, Balance And Composure, Citizen, Circa Survive, Tigers Jaw, Superheaven; they are NOT shoegaze bands haha.

I'm not a fan of citizen but my friend is, so I decided to check them out and am listening to this song now. All I can say, is that compared to their other stuff this is way better.
