China Drum's awesome version of the Kate Bush song taken from the 'Can't stop these things' single released in 1996. Has to be one of the best punk covers of all time...

This song saved me when I got 'stitched up' by a karaoke DJ to sing Wuthering Heights. So I just sang it in this key; and completely shocked him!

Oh, this is fun! The verses in particular are great. See, all KB fans aren't purists about covers. But anyone who does a cover has to have a great deal of courage.

After a great turnout and response to the London gig (which was indeed, bloody brilliant), a new date has been added: 10th May 2013, China Drum play a homecoming gig at Newcastle University's Student Union, check out China Drum's official Facebook page for further info :)

Cheers mate!! This is the version I have on 7" but don't have a record player to enjoy it on any more!! Manchester Boardwalk 1996 or so..ah, those were the days.. However if anybody is interested in cover versions may I point you in the direction of The Fatima Mansions - specifically 'Shiny Happy People'.

China Drum sounded like they were very much influenced by Hüsker Dü.I saw them live one time, touring for their second album (that I liked better than "Goosefair"), in a club that could hold 800 people, and we were only 12. It was a FREE show too (for real). The singer ended up singing in the empty pit, it was hilarious.

I agree Chatham - Probably the best cover version ever ! I first heard this on their Goosefair album tbh - played it to death at the time. A fu**in great British punk band - lost to the mists of history - don't recollect any US bands coming out with powerful shit like this - especially knobhead bands from Hollyworld like RHCP who masturbate over bands like The Germs - love all that stuff but come on - this is a class above !!!
