On this day in 1970 {Mar. 8th} Bobby Vinton performed "My Elusive Dream" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show' One month earlier on Feb. 7th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #46 & spent 7 weeks on the Top 100 It was originally recorded by David Houston & Tammy Wynette; their version reached #1 {for 2 weeks} on Sept. 16th on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart Two other versions have charted; Johnny Darrell {#73/country chart} & Charlie Rich {#49/Top 100}
