Best advice is... play a TUNE. Charlie Parker, best improvisor on record, always played a tune. Even when flat out, still amazing melodies flowed from his horn, because he was thinking music, then playing what he heard in his head. Practice doing that and you're sorted. Practice scales with a metronome and you're fucked.

excellent tips i like No 3 due to very often young guitarist get tricked with metronome (nothing bad to practice with it especially for people that struggle with timing) and No 5 i do listen jazz, metal- all kinds, classical etc all except folk music and i take what i need from each of it, do not know did it happen to you but it happens to me that when i was to much hunting melody i became to melodic when i needed some show off for classical rock or hard rock stuff , but again that aint some problem. If i remember correctly Vinnie Vincent from KISS have problem that he could not play non melodic solo for album so previous guitarist recorded it, it was long ago. Great Chanel excellent playing and i start to watch it almost every day, PS good album that you recorded have heard few stuff-impressive, all the best. I read about people have problem to create their own licks and stile, well stile come with time and when you stop play other solos to much (but we must learn from them it is phase) and one great thing i have learned is to write down my own licks each day few, recorded what ever then come back after 1 month on them develop it more in 3-4 months i had a lot 'my' licks- still do the same thing today, also during learning of harmony i did this-played familiar song backward using last chord as first and improvised solo with it, wrote all scales on paper (now we can print it) and just play. great channel arguably the best on net, impressive energy and positive attitude.bravo.
