Anna Johnson

I wrote this song several years ago in honor of true, genuine, patient and lasting love, but also in honor of my precious grandparents, who have recently passed away and gone home to heaven (Eldred - October 2014, Ruth - March 2015). They were married for more than fifty years, but they didn't find each other until later in life; they were in their mid-thirties by the time they married! My grandmother remembers feeling lonely and wondering if she'd find the love of her life, so this song always spoke to her in a special way. Isn't that the neatest thing about music? It really has power to speak to peoples' hearts and emotions.

Hey Anna, this song is truly beautiful. I have a super odd request. My boyfriend and i danced to your song our very first date barefoot in my back yard and now we are getting married, i was wondering what the chances are i could get an instrumental version? Anna, I am so glad you found my channel since that led me to yours. I am having tears welling up listening to this song. This is absolutely beautiful!!! You do remind me of one of my favorite musicians Alison Krauss; only I like your voice even better than I like hers. I love bluegrass also and would love to hear your covering some traditional bluegrass songs. But I know for sure, I would enjoy your originals more, always. :) I will purchase your cd's today.

Thanks for the suggestion! I love bluegrass music, and though I'm not super familiar with the standards, I'm sure I've heard and enjoyed many of them over time. Alison Krauss is my all-time favorite musician, and I always enjoy her renditions of bluegrass favorites. There are so many old songs with such wonderful narratives that have gone by the wayside. There is a real treasure there waiting. Revive them with your spirited voice.
