Clarence did some great things with the Kentucky Colonels, The Byrds, and Muleskinner. He left us way too soon. RIP Clarence White.

TO: Marie Maribo Check out his comedy albums if you can find them. My mom had one I recall in the '60's that had a hilarious classic on it called, "What It Was-Was Football." She also had Hudson & Landry's first album & Flip Wilson's "Cowboys & Colored People." They were all rib splitting & amazingly CLEAN. No cussing, no vulgarity. Just wholesome comedy like Bill Cosby, Steve Allen, Godfrey Cambridge & Foster Brooks used to do, before Rodney Dangerfield, Red Foxx & Richard Pryor came along, cussin' like sailors. Although I'm not that naïve, & am sure some of them were different in Vegas, etc., but at least they cleaned it up for TV or the network censors bleeped 'em, to help protect the kids. Nowadays anything goes. Thanks to all from Family Guy to Bevis & Butthead, which they don't play late nite like Adult Swim. Instead they're billed as "family shows" during primetime & syndicated reruns play in the afternoon. Guess that's one reason why I hear little kids at T-ball games cussing.

Marie Maribo, yes, and I believe he won some awards for his gospel albums. Before that, I saw him on a show, singing a gospel hymn , "Somebody Bigger."

I always loved Andy's guitar playing and singing. I have one of his Albums. I recommend you downloading House of the Rising Sun by Andy Griffith. He did that song very well.

Bummer that recorder was on "play" and not "record" - would have been a keeper!

You guys are so spoiled. They didn't have our "modern technology" like we have back then, of course it's going to sound old. And you can only remaster something so much. The "old timey" sound gives its character. If I look up Bluegrass, (which I seldom do, because I like classic rock) I EXPECT it to sound like that. If you don't like the quality of older songs, stop watching videos about them and go listen to your "One Direction" GARBAGE. Thank you for your time. Good day.

P.S. if you're interested, the White Brothers went on to do some great things in music. Look up: Kentucky Colonels (a band name Merle Travis gave them, but no one was from there), Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, The Byrds, Country Gazette, Nashville Bluegrass Band, Roland White Band, New Kentucky Colonels to see what they accomplished and hear some of their great music.. I imagine you can find out a lot just by looking here at all the related videos; some have Clarence and Roland in various bands.
