That's just "redneck." Mayberry was named after Mount Airy, a small mountain town in North Carolina, where I'm from. The people there are typical mountain hillbilly. Nothing you would experience in Oklahoma where I moved to for med school. Midwestern redneck is not even remotely the same as true Southern. South is not a location, it's a culture. I would know, I've lived in both places. I don't know what it is with Oklahoma's obsession with thinking they're southern.
