It's a shame that vote didn't pass. Perhaps the pro-Independence faction should have had William Wallace and Robert the Bruce as their theme for getting people to vote? It was a close vote but not quite. I suspect that London does not want Scotland to run free because that would be a huge loss of face and if Scotland went, you know that Wales would have followed and bingo, no more UK! Just a bit of speculation here, what if Scotland and Wales teamed up and formed their own Gaelic Confederation? Just wondering. It'll probably never happen though.

I've been tracing my ancestry, and much to my delight & joy I've discovered I'm Scottish (from McAodh). I'm also part-Irish (Breen, my paternal grandmother), but please don't hold that against me (lol). I always wondered why I liked bagpipes, and now I know.
