looking at some comments. when they played in Savannah, the vocalist asked if anyone could sell them some weed. Our bass player in the band I was in sold to them for this album. I broke my drop D string opening and was blazed..disaster, but 03-05 was an awesome time for this type of music. These guys were awesome live too.

I don't care what anyone says or what label they want to slap on ALoL, or how badly they want to compare them to Meshuggah, ALoL fucking destroys. I love Meshuggah, and I love ALoL - they both slaughter everything - they both have sick grooves and a focus on kicking heads in, so everyone needs to shut the fuck up and love both bands, because they'd be stupid not to.

haha this shit is almost 10 years old! meshuggah didnt even really sound all meshuggah'ish till the nothing album anyways. so who gives a fuck. theres a total difference between the djent sound and this off rhythm groove!

@SoilentGr33n late to the party, but this is completely true. to pretend it's not influenced by meshuggah is silly, like some people below. alol made meshuggah into a mosh record, but that had huge consequences for what would come later (and still goes on now). it went over well with mosh kids cause it was DIFFERENT, not scene. i remember going to shows and kids going off harder to alol than other bands at the show. great record

@DriftingVG +Pt. 2 of previous post. But yeah we smoke those 2 blunts and then i topped it off with this bubbler i have and we were all feelin groovy. Then I Pulled out Snake's guitar and started jammin'out! A cool experience but they played the show to a crowd of 30, it was sad. But they had a gnarly "trippy colored oil wheel" shining as they played. I also discovered Psyopus that day. But it isnt the last ALOL encounter. 2 years later ALOL (& Periphery) crashed at my house on tour.

@DriftingVG ha well you were that guy that smoked your bud with them, I'm sure they remember the details of that. That was was probably like the 3rd or 4th time that day someone blazed with them. Everyone smokes bud with them that has it. I actually got to smoke with the fellows on 4/20. I went t0 go see them in a small rural city in south-central Pennsylvania called Charleroi. It was 4/20/2006 in the afternoon & I seen the fellows in the parkling lot so I offered 2 blunts to smoke.
