It isnt because God says we CANT be with them....I mean shoot, have you read the book of Hosea? Dating someone who doesnt understand or believe what you stand for can hurt tremendously. This is so we dont get hurt. God is mysterious. He might say no to one person doing and yes to another. This song talks about what it means to be truly committed. And the very real cost of saying, Only you Lord are Master, and I will obey. It has a much deeper meaning than "dating".

@bOnefiRst10 I can't speak for the user, but I know I always hated how this song says, "you don't have the same religion as me, so bye lol!" It's just wrong, sorry, that is what I believe, and the idea that you cannot marry outside of your religion, much less date, is one of the reasons why I left. I fully expect to get flamed and hated on for this comment. But that is how I feel, and this has to be my least favorite song of theirs. That said, I do like others by them, even if I disagree.

I am hurting so bad right now. I am going through this same thing this song is talking about. Me and my ex boyfriend made a lot of mistakes together and he did some things to me that I am having a hard time dealing with. But I knew I had to break up with him because he was not what God wanted for me. But it didn't make it hurt less and it is still hurting. I have to deal with the bad choices I made every day, and some days I feel like its going to kill me! I just need prayer right now.
