Track 1 from Zion's album, Behold the Man.

From Wikipedia:

Behold the Man is the only album by the band Zion, released in 1981. It is best known as the recording debut of Christian singer/songwriter Rich Mullins (1955-1997), who wrote all of the songs on the album.

In the late 1970s, Mullins left Cincinnati Bible College to work with Zion Ministries. While there, he also sang and played in the band, which went by the name Zion. Soon after the release of the album, one of Amy Grant's managers, Mike Blanton, received a copy of it and recognized "Sing Your Praise to the Lord" as the perfect song for Grant to include on her album, Age to Age (1982). Amy Grant recorded the song, which became a hit, and resulted in a publishing contract for Rich Mullins. Later, Rich began his professional recording career on Blanton's record label, Reunion Records, with his self-titled debut album in 1986.

THIS is the version I remember. I was an original Zion groupie - our youth group hosted them a few times and we'd follow them to other churches to see them perform. They were, by far, the most influential Christian music group in my life. It's hard to believe it's been 34 years since I met them and hard to fathom Rich has been gone 17 years. Thanks for sharing the album. I still have my signed copy.

2:38 - 4:33 and 4:46 - 4:55 are, to me, signs of what made Rich so unique among his contemporaries. It's even a good mile-marker for today. Rich drilled down to present the Lord as best He knew how. This communicates so well to the average Joe just how awesome God is.

Thank you Rich

@Pbarrr4 That must have been awesome. Do you remember where it was? I just posted a video of Rich and Zion performing this song at Cincinnati Bible College in December 1982. You should check it out!

I saw Rich Mullins perform this song live at a church almost 30 years ago. He would occaisionally brush his hair out of his eyes without skipping a beat. Amazing. I bought the album and a shirt. Thanks so much for posting this. Brought back awsome memories.
