‘Astringent’ is the sophomore single release from Launceston, Tasmania based tech-metal band Zeolite, featuring guest vocals from Jake Wolf of Reflections.

Speaking of the ever growing social divide between the rich and the poor, and the general disdain many Australians hold towards the current Government whom facilitate it, Astringent hits with a full force of aggression, technicality and groove!

Zeolite have fast gained a solid reputation as a devastating and formidable live act, challenging their listeners with an eclectic mix of tech metal leads, odd metered grooves and riffs, and finishing them with pummeling breakdowns that will move any head.

Since their live debut in mid-2014, Zeolite gained enough attention to support Boris the Blade in their fourth live performance, and since have earned support slots with bands such as Psycroptic, Ne Obliviscaris and The Schoenberg Automaton, confirming their ability to mix it with the best in Australian metal.

The release of Zeolite’s first single ‘Earthmover’ was received well enough to lead to a feature in Heavy Magazine Australia, and it gathered attention from various metal webzines from around the world, including a feature on the prominent progressive metal site, got-djent.com.

Zeolite are… Fraser Mainwaring – Vocals, Lucas Tolputt – Bass, Jimmy Howard – Drums, Patrick Haas – Guitars.

Holy shit. That was fucking awesome. Only two criticisms i have probably arent actualy porblems, but merely personal preferences: 1. I really, really wish there was more vocal variation (more highs and lows) and 2. I wish the mixing had beefed up the drums more. Other than that, this song is fucking sick. Looking forward to future endeavors. Love from Adelaide.
