This is a Tapping piece I came up with called Eclipse. I'm using a You Rock Guitar as a midi controller for the Xpand 2 virtual instrument within Pro Tools. The patch is called Phased Jump. Sounds better in HD.

Thanks for watching.

I don't understand why they don't have an 8 string neck option.

If it was really expensive (like the thing Holdsworth uses) would you feel better about it? Anyway, great composition on this piece. I'm looking to get one of these for mad retro synth solos, and this video shows I might be able to make it happen.

My setup was with a Mac so no ASIO. I plugged straight into mac via USB and selected YRG as midi input device. If I remember correctly there's some sensitivity settings within the YRG software, have you tried changing these. Do the notes just trigger inadvertently or do they remain stuck on and you have to reset to clear notes??

I am trying to use it on Pro Tools too but keep getting multiple strings staying on once played. What is your setup are you usinf ASIO4ALL drivers or a interface to connect the you rock? What is your setup exactly? It's a great tool and I want to learn to use it very badly but am stuck with technical problems so far.

ekalb2185 ..please remove your head from your rectum...It is not designed for masters such as yourself..and we cant all be as good as you..I play piano badly ..I play guitar much better..I do many demos in my studio..Its perfect for putting together ideas on the fly..Something a master such as yourself would not have to do when touring the worlds great concert halls.

I want one really bad but I have one question. I produce dubstep and other electronic music. And I'm planning on getting this midi controller cause i'm used to play the guitar instead of a keyboard. also performing live dubstep with such a guitar looks awesome :D But now here is my question: can I use this controller in NI Massive? Cause I cant find an answer anywhere..

@capoeiraike its cheating because theres more to playing a guitar then wantonly hitting notes. You have to control all the strings, you have control how hard you hit the notes, etc etc. This is a crutch. Still cool, but still a crutch. Can he do it on a normal guitar? Most likely. For most people, this isnt going to get them good at real guitar.

@ekalb2185 Lol! How is this "cheating"? You still need to know how to play the guitar in order to arrange the note patterns. So is every midi controller a "toy"? You have no idea what you're talking about and just pointlessly hating.
