What a load of bullshit. He can sing perfectly in tune. Do you know that the human voice is a biological instrument ? Some days better some days in not perfect condition. Then if you use the voice in this unnormal region,,,,what the fuck do you expect. to deliver perfect like this time after time is exceptionally dificult to do. Just accept it dude.

This is 100% live - Mats talks about this TV gig on his website. He and Yngwie came to the studio assuming they would mimic to a backing track and instead were told that they were expected to play live with the studio/house band backing them up.
