I never really looked into this band, even though I've been listening to Ocean Avenue since i was born it feels like...but this new album is absolutely killer. This song and Transmission Home are killers.

The violinist, Sean Mackin, is the only member of Yellowcard that's been there since their first album. Ryan came in to be the singer, they switched out guitarists and LP just left. It's weird to keep calling them Yellowcard when almost all of the members have been recycled.

People are ridiculous. "Lift A Sail" is a genius album. Unfortunately some of the Yellowcard's fan-base is not grown enough to know that bands tend to grow up and try new things. That's what happened on this album. Yellowcard have grown and the same happened to their sound.

I bought the album but this has to be by far my favorite song on it. The chorus sounds amazing... Light a fire and watch it burn.

The music is more mature because of life experience - and it's ok.

I'm still hoping that the other songs can salvage the album for me. The only one I liked so far is Transmission Home, and that too only somewhat. I understand that YC are going for a new musical direction with this album, and it'll probably broaden their fanbase quite a bit, but I just can't seem to get into the new tunes. As it's already been said, the violin isn't the main theme anymore, it's much more subtle and blended in. I'm also missing the usual 'climax' found in YC songs, not to mention that the drums just don't seem to have the energy that LP did while playing them (no offense to the new drummer of course)Still, one can keep hoping.
