I remember hearing this on the cd and loved it, I knew that ryan married his girlfriend so I thought it was really romantic, then I read somewhere that his wife was paralyzed after a snowboarding accident and that's why he wrote the song, I was so sad. I Hope she gets well soon.8 years ago

After all these years, after all the songs, YC is still the only band that has ever brought out the best of all my emotions. Since I started listening to them in 2003, they have forever changed my life through their music, and I just wish I could see them live just once in my life. I wish I could honestly hug each and everyone of them and thank them for making a huge and positive difference in my life. They have raised me from my darkest hours to my most shining moments. They have pushed me forward, been there for me when I had nothing. I know I don't know them, and this may be a mush fest, but, I can't help it. Their music has made my life, my memories, and my heart. Their music is truly a gift to everyone of us, and I hope they make music for many more years to come. YC has been one of the best things to happen to me as far as music goes, they have changed my life and inspired me and brought me to my feet. Does anyone else hear "bud in my veins" instead of "blood in my veins"? I know in the lyrics, it says the word is blood, but to me, bud makes more sense. The line is "salt in the air, blood in my veins". When you break it down, there's salt in the air, but oxygen is the main component of air. Blood is the main component in our veins. To me, it would make more sense for it to me "bud in my veins" because salt is to air as bud is to veins, whereas oxygen is to air as blood is to veins.Does that make sense to anyone else? Sorry if i explained that poorly. I'm not fully awake yet haha.Either way, YELLOWCARD IS FUCKING AMAZING!9 years ago

Saw them last night in Chicago, was surprised they played this song. I loved that they played it though played it last after Ocean Avenue which was strange since they usually close with that. But it was fitting, something about that show was different lots of emotion. And I love the fact that they were very open with the audience about the trials they went through leading up to writing Lift a Sail. Prob the best show I have been to of theirs. 9 years ago
