if that's your experience with sampling than you need to open your eyes and ears a bit. check out the avalanches' seminal album 'since i left you'. constructed over more than 3 years out of 3000 samples. in my opinion (and many critics') one of the best albums of the 00s11 years ago

Yeah, I hadn't seen any thing like that done before because I really don't pay much attention to that scene; my experience with sampling has been hearing bits of songs I like mixed into songs I really don't like on the radio every now and then. Hearing a song I really liked played unchanged with rap over it seems outlandish and scary. xP11 years ago

Sampling would be taking a sample of the song and looping it (it's usually just the drum beat or something), this is taking an entire song and rapping over it. I'm not a fan of sampling to begin with, but that is flat out plagiarism.11 years ago
