If you listen to what Keith says during the solo break, you can pretty much tell he's talking about Jeff Beck... "Oh I bet you're making the money now!" (or something to that effect) Page did a great job in this band... and I'm not a Page fan... but he kept this sinking ship afloat for as long as he could... they were ripped off their entire career... overworked and not paid burns you out after a bit.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Page is playing BASS during this performance. Without any date for the filming, I have no idea who is playing lead guitar. Sure doesn't look like Beck. But he was fired by the band in October, '66. It wasn't until then that Page took over solo lead guitar duties. The studio recording of this featured both Page and Beck on lead guitar, with John Paul Jones (as a studio musician for hire) on bass. The camera angles suck, but from the distant shots, it doesn't look like Beck. But that IS Page on bass.

Amen. And if those old black guys versions were this damn good, then they would have been the ones making it big, or at least bigger. Yes, I certainly believe that the times would have held them back, but not as much if they performed these soings the way Jimmy Page interpreted them. Word.

He may have ripped off some old black guys a little but he almost always gave them their props for example You shook me all night long has Willie Dixon in the credits. Besides, They always put their own spin on every song they ever did.

Your'e knowledge of rock and roll history is astounding. Did you also know that The Beatles landed in the U.S. in Feb. 1964 ?

Cool song. Jimmy Page plays a mean guitar. He went on to form Led Zeppelin with Robert Plant shortly thereafter.
