Real talent here. Most of today's pop and rock acts only wishes it had a mere fraction of that talent. Exene may look just a bit homely these days (she never was the Barbie doll type rock star) but she is nowhere near the train wrecks from today under the names Britney Spears, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. I bet Exene's still having a better life than any of those pop whores.

*chuckles* Well. A comment below says she was never 'visually stunning'... Hmmm... well she did marry Viggo Mortenson (yeah, that 'king guy' Aragorn from Lord of the Rings) So much for 'looks'. And damn, yeah she is amazing. Many critics believe she was one of the most influential female rock vocalists of all time. And still, when you ask "ever listen to X?" People look like you whacked them on the head. Insanely perfect vocal harmonies, great lyrics, zooming guitar, and fun as hell!

I never found Exene to have been eye candy, but she has talent, passion and a lot of other qualities that make her an awesome artist and part of such a bigger picture. Also, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis a few years back. I recall the blog post on MySpace. Horrible disease. Lost my mother to it. Wish nothing but the best to Exene and her loved ones when it comes to that!
