Very ahead of the times in terms of what she was singing about. Not sure if anyone was really appreciating what she was saying back then, but it is just as if not more relevant now and everyone can relate to the lyrics which are quite frankly fucking brilliant.

I realize that times have to change, and I have no desire to be one of those finger wagging in the air "back in my day" type of music puritans, but I really feel for this generation. Especially the females. Everything is about over sexualized borderline pornographic imagery which is often times called empowerment but more like exploitation. Women are blatantly trying to out-whore one another. I think if young women today had female performers like Siouxsie, Debbie Harry, the Slits, Poly Styrene, Salt n' Pepa, Debora Iyall, Lene and countless others, all of this in- your-face misdirected low class behavior would cease, or at least be limited.

Poly returned the kiss I threw her at Erics in Liverpool 1978, What a great time when a plump mixed race Woman could make the charts singing about what a shit place the World was becoming, no sexuality, just joy in what She did and commitment to what She believed...seems the World is regressing somehow.
