Tower of Power

Skladba Positive pochádza z albumu Black and Gold. Po Tracey Thorn a Juliet Roberts sa v rokoch 1991 a 1992 stala vokalistkou Working Week Eyvon Waite, ktorá spievala aj v tejto skladbe.V nej sa rapom predstavila Marcia Byfield. Zostavu v tom čase tvorili Simon Booth gitara, Larry Stabbins saxofon,Paul Heard bicie a klavesové nástroje,Paul Williams basová gitara, Steve White bicie,Paul Spong trubka, Richard Edward trombon a Bosco D Oliveira perkusie.

"Working Nights" - one of the best albums in the musically rotten 80ies: Adventuous and far beyond mainstream. Unfortunately they broke up much too quickly. Nice to see them here... back at work :)

I like this, but am equally stoked by their version on the Del Ruiz Volcano concert from 1986 (released on VHS in '87). It just jumps!

Fortunate to have their vinyl album, "Surrender" that includes a kickin' version of Smokey Robinsion & the Miracles "Ain't That Peculiar". Someone please post it! And how about the 12 inch versions of "Positive" and "Don't Touch my Friend", two of their best 12 inch singles. (Who's the lead vocalist on "Positive"?)

I was probably their only U.S. fan; this group could cook and strut in a way few others could before and since. I am so sorry I never saw them live - I don't even think they had a U.S. label. A group which broke down musical boundaries and so couldn't be slotted in any 'scene.' I hope against hope that they reform.

Working Week, as an yng aussie(18yo) who was exposed to them through my eccentric French Boss whilst working in his restaurant, "Phil De Ville " and smoking his hashish, with the stereo system turned up loud, I still now after 25yrs love this group and their soulful melodies. Thank God for the digital age that we can now go on listening to their songs, takes me back to an awesome time in my life.

Agreed. Brit soul and funk well under-appreciated. Juliet Roberts is an incredible vocalist. Her and Jocelyn Sims can blow any US vocals out of the water.
